Life is a learning journey
No matter what life throws at us, whether it be a disability or chronic illness, we can embrace each day as a gift and a chance to learn something new and wonderful.
After founding two Montessori schools and teaching for 25 years, I suddenly became ill in November of 2014. After consulting a plethora of specialists and undergoing a myriad of treatments, I am still not cured. No longer able to work with children on a daily basis, I donated my Montessori school in 2020 to a group of wonderful parents who continue to run it to this day.
Since my days can be filled with profound fatigue and pain, I need a plumb line in order to navigate my life. Besides God, my husband, children and grandchildren, the principles of Dr. Maria Montessori continue to serve me in helping me in coping with the uncertainty of living with chronic illness. Montessori’s principles of freedom, choice and living according to our highest potential resonate with me more powerfully now, than when I was a practicing Montessorian in a classroom full of young students.
My desire is to share with you effective tools and strategies for living a joyful life in the face of chronic illness the Montessori way.
